Newall Appoints New Regional Sales Manager

Is Glass A Thing of the Past?
In 1968 the first linear encoders, featuring glass scales, appeared on the market. While effective for fine measuring, they were found to be extremely problematic in harsher machine environments. Many of the problems, such as ineffective sealing, broken and scratched glass, and the difficulty of fitting the scales, continue to persist with today's newer glass scales. To address these problems, engineers at Newall began researching inductive technology.
